About
The ‘Fuse’ Philosophy
My name is Hakim Callier, I’m an audio engineer; I’m an artist. Art is the process or product of deliberate arrangements to effect the senses or emotions. Audio engineering and audio production is an art form, and like any art form it’s understood with a certain sensitivity and appreciation for beauty. This is more commonly known as taste.
The four major processes involved in delivering the final audio product are Recording, Mixing, Mastering and Production. Our aim is to fuse these deliverables to a single facilitator – me and my team – at an affordable price and with great taste.
Business & Blogging
My business is professional audio production and management. I offer 3 technical services: recording, editing and mixing. I utilize custom-boutique pro audio hardware from Black Lion Audio, Mytek and Oktavamods combined with state-of-the-art audio and video software from Apple, Avid and Steinberg. This allows me to produce audio and video products with just the right amount of digital precision and analog roundness or warmth.
Back in 2006 I began blogging a personal blog where I’ve explored Spirituality, Politics, Music, Art and Culture. The popularity of this blog has taught me invaluable lessons on managing personalities with a community via social networking media.
In 2007 I became a member of the blog syndication network Blogburst. However, this year I acquired syndication through Demand Media, the privately owned online media company founded by former Myspace chairman Richard Rosenblatt.
As my blogs grow in popularity I’ve begun to generate more clients for audio production services.
If you want to read an extended version of my story I’ve written it at Hakim Callier – Biography. You might also like to visit my Fuse Studios in the Press page.
This site is dedicated to educating others about pro audio, to learn the skills of audio production, share their experiences and promote my work at my studio in New York City.
I started it in September 2007 mainly because, as a songwriter and musician having my own studio made it easier for me to work on my own musical ideas having a great room and lots of nice gear. Since then I’ve added a custom-boutique Pro Tools HD system, Black Lion Audio summing mixer, Mytek digital converters and a TC Electronic digital converter and monitoring solution and more.
